Welcome to Beautiful Ink Editing!
I’m Angelina. For many years I’ve worked in academia as a medical researcher (PHD), and as the founder of a successful tutoring company in Toronto, Canada, where I have helped many students achieve academic success in language and writing.
For the last five years, I have also been the in-house editor for Eagles and Dragons Publishing where I have worked on several fiction and non-fiction projects, including five bestselling titles.
I love books, and I love to read. I also love helping my clients put out the best possible product so that they can achieve success and turn readers into fans.
That’s why I decided to create Beautiful Ink Editing.
I have a lot of respect for authors, their process, and their work, and I know how much their writing means to them. I also understand the importance of putting the best possible product out into the world.
This is the best time to be an author, but competition in on-line publishing is fierce. It is important that your work is as professional as possible, and that includes good editing!
I’m happy to be a part of the process through careful and meticulous copy editing. Attention to detail is my specialty, and I want to help you put the final, beautiful touches on your manuscript.

At Beautiful Ink Editing, my goal is to help you put the final touches on your manuscript so that it is ready to be released into the world.
Before the work begins in earnest, I will provide you with a FREE sample copy edit or proofread (depending on what you are looking for) to make sure that you like my work.

Copy editing services are more comprehensive than proofreading and ensure correctness, accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Some of the things I help with are:

editing for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage

checking for consistency and continuity of mechanics and facts, including anachronisms, character names, and relationships

editing tables, figures, and lists

checking front matter, back matter, and cover copy

checking web links
Proofreading services examine material in its final format to correct errors in textual and visual elements. The material may be read in isolation or against a previous version. It includes checking for:

minor mechanical errors such as spelling mistakes or deviations from style sheet

flagging or checking locations of art
-
inserting page numbers or checking them against content and page references
Note that proofreading is checking a work after editing; it is not a substitute for editing.
Please Note: Beautiful Ink Editing does not provide in-depth story editing services. However, if anything really stands out, I will make a note of it for the author.

How It Works
To keep it simple, here is how the editing process works:

Author fills in the Contact form with the request

Beautiful Ink Editing will respond and ask for information about your book, novella, short story, or blog post. Author provides the following details:
-
genre
-
total word count
-
type of editing needed (copy editing or proofreading)
-
spelling preference (indicate British/Canadian or American English spelling)
-
timelines (it is important to allow as much time as possible, especially for full-length novels or books, but if you have special timelines in mind, you need to indicate that)
-
comma preferences (tell me whether or not you want minimal use of commas, or prefer use of Oxford/serial comma)

Free sample edit (Beautiful Ink Editing will request a specific number of pages (depending on length of work) so that each party can determine if the fit is right for working together. Example: for a full-length novel, you will provide fifteen pages from the middle of the book for the sample edit.

If both parties agree to proceed, Beautiful Ink Editing will send a contract to the author to review and sign. This contract is an industry standard contract that protects both parties. Author returns the signed contract to Beautiful Ink Editing.

30% of estimated cost is paid to Beautiful Ink Editing by PayPal or E-Transfer.

Once deposit is received, work begins on your manuscript. File format can be agreed upon on an individual basis.

Beautiful Ink Editing will endeavour to finish your manuscript as soon as possible, depending on the amount of work required for your manuscript, but on average, editing a full-length novel will take up to six weeks. Beautiful Ink Editing will notify the author of any changes to timelines if it is determined that more work is needed.

Once editing is finished, the author will be notified.

Beautiful Ink Editing will send an invoice to the author for the balance of the fee. This must be paid upon receipt.

Once the final invoice is paid, Beautiful Ink Editing will send the final, polished manuscript with track-changes back to the author.

Now you are ready to release your book out into the world!
